Gulen's Story
A little girl named Gülen, from the beautiful coastal city of İzmir, Türkiye, grew up with the sea always in view and curiosity always in her heart. She loved learning, dreaming, and imagining life beyond the horizon. Even at a young age, she believed the world was full of possibilities waiting to be explored.
As Gülen grew older, education became her pathway to the world. Her journey carried her from Türkiye to the United States, where she built a life as a professor. Along the way, she became not only a professor, but also a traveler, a mentor, and a citizen of the world, shaped by cultures, friendships, and experiences across continents.
Through every chapter, Gülen trusted that life had its own timing, and that love would arrive when the moment was right—unexpected, meaningful, and worth the wait.
Chris's Story
A little boy named Chris, growing up in Rhode Island, always felt a special connection to the ocean. The water sparked his sense of adventure and gave him a quiet strength that stayed with him as he grew.
After completing his undergraduate studies in Boston, Chris chose a life of service and exploration by joining the United States Navy. His career took him across the world, allowing him to experience new cultures, build lasting friendships, and serve with dedication and pride. No matter where duty called, he remained grounded, thoughtful, and steady.
While his life was filled with movement and travel, Chris believed that one day, his journey would lead him to someone who truly felt like home.
Our Story Together
A girl from İzmir and a boy from Rhode Island grew up worlds apart, guided by curiosity, service, and a love for discovery - never knowing their journeys were slowly leading them to each other.
In May 2025, our paths finally crossed in a cozy coffee shop in Washington, DC. What began as a simple conversation quickly turned into laughter, connection, and a feeling that instantly felt right. From that day on, life felt brighter, warmer, and fuller - shared adventures came naturally, and love grew effortlessly.
Our bond deepened through shared values, mutual respect, and the joy of building a life together.
On November 26, 2025, in the charming city of Providence, Rhode Island, Chris asked Gülen to spend forever with him. She said yes - to love, partnership, and a lifetime of adventures side by side. 💍
